first problem i had. somewhat solved.. i was trying to load windows 7 onto the computer (still never did) but was able to load the OS up

now my comp froze.. apparently i was loading too much stuff up.. and now its going ot the startup white screen.. chimes... then to a black screen with a blinking _
 
Beware, lots of C&P will follow, but first restart the Mac and immediately after the startup chime sounds, hold down the OPTION/ALT key and select the Macintosh HD you have Mac OS X installed onto.
