Unfortunately you cannot use the pwnage tool to pwn your iphone in windows through a virtual machine running OSX.

It recognizes the iPhone and you can use it with itunes in the virtual machine running osx.

When you run the pwnage tool it seems to be working but when it tries to reboot the phone, it can't.
If you try to reboot manually it just goes to the springboard without pwning.

I guess all of us windows users will have to wait for the release of the windows version.

I have been successful in creating a custom firmware in PwnageTool 3.1 running in VMware 6.5 (Leopard 10.5.2 OSX) for firmware 3.1 for the iPhone 3G. I then copied it to my Windows computer, manually put my iPhone 3G into DFU mode and restored it using iTunes (Shift+Restore). It was painfully slow, but it did work.
