Hi,

I have 2 MBPs. One from 2018 with Mojave and one from 2014 with Sierra.

For both I backup to a Synology NAS, using TimeMachine. Previously both were running Sierra and backup-ing was no problem. Life was good ;)

I updated the 2018 MBP to Mojave in December 2018. Everything worked like a charm, but suddenly my MBP keeps on restarting.

I pinpointed the problem to TM. When I run TimeMachine on the 2018 MBP; I get a black screen with and the mac is rebooting.

Any-one any ideas how to fix this because i didn't make a backup since december 5th.

I have poor experience with NAS TM disks.
They cannot be fixed and even properly managed. If they are needed for complete reinstall, they are slow if they work at all...
You can try Disk tools and run them on the TM sparse disk - and see, if you can fix it... But I suspect to fix this you may need to start again - delete the TM sparse disk from NAS and start again. At least that is all what I was ever able to do myself when this happened before to me. To be fair, OSX always came and said that the TM disk is bad and it needs to start again. I lost all prior backups and it took unreasonable amount of time to do "first backup" again.
I suggest you get external (USB3) disk (or docking station/enclosure+disk) and use that for TM. It does not have to be connected all the time, I pull mine out once a week or so, let computer finish one or two TM backups and store it again. You can also use one (large enough) TM disk for multiple computers. Disks today are ridiculously cheap.
Such disks are much faster to use - and also more reliable and easier to use.
Also, it may be helpful to get at the same time another external disk and do routine (one a week?) backup to that disk using Carbon Copy Cloner. That can be made to be bootable, so if something fails, just boot on that CCC backup and your life is much easier for recovery...

This is what I do, run a second WD 10tb external usb3 drive for time machine. It cost $180 during black friday at bestbuy.com. Another macrumors person tipped me off. We bought 3 of them and they work a treat.

If you had a MBP "from 2018" running Sierra, it wouldn't be a 2018-model, more likely a 2017 model bought in 2018?

Check to see if you have kernel panic logs from the restarts. In the Console app, look under "System Reports" on the left, in the middle section, see if you have a log that starts with "Kernel_" and ends in ".panic". If it does, if you can post one of these files that originate from the restart, there may be information there on what's going on.

True -> 2017 model bought in 2018...

Below the Kernel file. Thanks in advance!

I would try starting the computer in safe mode.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

There are various things you should try:
1) In safe mode, see if you have access to your NAS.
2) If you have access to your NAS in safe mode, try doing a TM backup.
3) If the TM backup works in safe mode, reboot the computer so it's in the regular mode and see if you can do another backup to the NAS.

Report back the results of these tests.
