Mac Sales, minus iphone and ipad

Everyone keeps talking about how small of a percentage of Apple's revenue has been coming from the MacPro and Mac hardware in general. What everyone seems to forget is that pre-2006 there was no iphone and ipad to account for in sales figures. Apple ADDED to their product catalog and now makes a ton of cash on those new products.

What I would really like to know is how just the Mac line stand if you ignore all the sales from iphone and ipad? If we pretend those products never came into play, what percentage of Apple's revenue come from the Mac Pro? MBP, etc...

Look at the story for the earnings call that happened last week. Macs accounted for 14% of revenue. That number can be split to about 2/3 portables and 1/3 desktops. There is no further info on how to split iMacs, Minis and Mac Pros.

Exactly. You gotta forget about that 2/3 and look at that 1/3 and see where the Mac Pro fits in. Calculating portables into the equation give Mac an unfair disadvantage.

Personally, I kinda wish Apple would just split into two companies. Apple Portable Electronics and Apple Computer.
