Mac Sleep/wake issue

I have a 2008 mac pro and recently it has been having a sporadic issue where if it goes to sleep and turns off the display when i go to turn it back on by hitting a button on the keyboard it will not come back on immediately. Instead it takes about a minute then when it finally reboots the fans will kick on and go to max speed and stay there until i force shut down the computer.

I recently installed a new SSD drive to my #1 slot.

Any idea's?

You can try a hard smc reset. Unplug mains power, pull the Battery (carefuly not the break the socket). Let it sit without any power over night.
