Stuffit Expander is a free download. It will handle your .hqx files. Your .dmg files will be handled by a built-in MacOS X utility called DiskImageMounter.

hi again

10x manj for replying ....maybe u didn`t understand me ...just tell me a link or a program to download in order to open the *.dmg file .. or another solution ...10x again my friend

If you have a DMG file, when you double click it it should automatically open an icon on your Desktop, similar to if you inserted a CD-ROM. The software for opening a DMG file is included with OSX.
Then, you will look at the disk image that has been mounted, and in there you'll find either an installer application OR you will just drag the contents to your hard drive.

Stuffit is downloadable at http://www.stuffit.com/mac/index.html

Roger, what kind of Mac do you have? What operating system / version does it run?

If you have OS X, then you do not need software to use .dmg files. If you use a version of MacOS before OS X, then you probably should not be using anything in a .dmg file, because all of that software is for OS X.

For OS X: When are you told you must identify a program to launch the .dmg file? Is it by your web browser? Is your web browser Firefox or Safari, or something else? If your web browser says this, then save the file to the desktop or some other disk location, and double click it there, and you should not have trouble.

Roger, because language makes it hard for us to communicate with you...

Can you please look at this:

http://guides.macrumors.com/Installing_Applications_in_Mac_OS_X

This explains how disk images (.dmg files) *should* work. It has pictures.

See the section titled "Disk Images" and then below that, the section titled "Application Bundles." Please see if you are doing the same thing described there to make the .dmg file work.

Sorry this is so hard for you. I think once you get the idea, it will be very easy.

Welcome to the Mac community and to MR! :)
