I am a casual Mac User. I have a 2 and a half year old iMac running Mac OS X 10.2.8. It is a 1.25 GHz Power PC G4 with 256MB of memory. I primarily use it for video, audio and photos and tend to use the iMovie (3.0.3); iTunes (6.0.4(3)) and iPhoto (2.0.1). I also have an video iPod which I have purchased which I was hoping to use for videos, photos, etc. However, as I understand it, I apparently have to upgrade my iMac before I can transfer photos and videos to my iPod and I will also have to upgrade my iPod (ver. 1.0) to accomodate that as well. I thought about getting the latest version of iLife, but that apparently also requires that I upgrade my operating software as well???? Is Apple going to continue reaching into my wallet for every upgrade they have? I would appreciate any advice from anyone on the easiest and least expensive way to upgarde my iMac to support the latest features in the new 30GB video iPod. Thanks, Chris
