Okay.
So I just began a MobileMe trial, and I was beginning to set it up with my Mac and realized that there is no MobileMe preference pane. .Mac is still there. Ive made sure I am updated to the most recent version of Mac OS X, but still no luck.

Any suggestions?

I assume by the most recent version of OS X, you mean 10.5+? There isn't a MobileMe update for 10.4 users. Other than that, I'm not sure why you wouldn't be getting it.

Yes.
I mean 10.5

This is very strange. Here are screenshots of both my about Mac and System Preferences.

go into the .mac preference and it should update itself, and if not you can use it anyway.

MobleMe FAQ said:
I see .Mac preferences in System Preferences. How do I change that to MobileMe preferences?
Mac OS X 10.5.x: If Mac OS X 10.5.4 is already installed, open System Preferences, click .Mac, and wait a few moments. You should see an alert that .Mac is now MobileMe. Click the Software Update button, then download and install the MobileMe Update For Mac OS X. If you have Mac OS X 10.5, 10.5.1, 10.5.2, or 10.5.3, update to 10.5.4, then install the MobileMe Update for Mac OS X. (You can continue to use .Mac preferences in the meantime).

Mac OS X 10.4.x: This is normal for Mac OS X 10.4.11. You can continue to use .Mac preferences.
