Hi everyone, just hoping someone can help me out asap as my Mac studio is about to be boxed up and returned.
I reset it yesterday as I had issues with some music software, now my mouse won’t connect at all during startup/reinstall Monterey so I can’t do anything at all. Tried everything but nothing works ☹️

Try using a wired mouse for the set up.
I don’t have one at the minute. Stuck on this screen and can’t get any further using keyboard

Just to try explain my frustration further, when this screen appears, as soon as I plug in the mouse it acknowledges it and moves on but still the mouse doesn’t work

Sounds like it's a problem with the mouse then. You might be able to navigate recoveryOS by just using a keyboard, but I've never tried, so I wouldn't know how to do it.

If you reset it, there is nothing more to do. Box it up and send it in.

Or you set something up incorrectly in your initial setup, and now your mouse is acting up. As supposed to sending it back, perhaps try another mouse and see if you can set it all up correctly this time.

I have no definitive solution for you, but I'll throw this out there:

First, plug in your keyboard with the charging cable. Then, when you get that first screen asking which drive to boot up from, either type the name of the Drive (not showing in your screenshot, but usually it's Macintosh HD), you probably won't have to type more than "Mac" to get it to highlight.

If that doesn't "highlight" the drive, try just hitting the Tab key. If either of those work, the drive is now selected and you can activate "Continue" by hitting the Enter key (starting to type Continue might also work).

The Studio it's slower (compared to previous iMacs) to connect to peripherials via bluetooth. At least in my experience.

On the first setup boot, my new Magic Mouse was recognized and paired after a while but brand new my magic keyboard would not pair at all.

I had to use a cable for setup (basically a workaround, the bluetooth would not pair my KB, but it would pick up my mouse after a while).

Also, when powering on, each time, there is a delay until bluetooth connects the mouse & KB, unlike previous Macs.

Anyway, OP, it might be this: a delay in connectivity or just the "usual" glitch with bluetooth on first time pairing.

It seems from what i noticed on others, If you have third party accessories, they don't play nice with the Studio on setup. You have to use Apple ones.

Yes, i know, it's not right ...

And I have absolutely no such problems. I do use Apple Keyboard and Trackpad, but other B/T peripherals connect with no issues - and I have never had to use the cable except for charging.

I've been using the Mac keeboard and Trackpad for months and have not observed any issues. Seems to work the same ast the iMacPro and previous Macs. So far I have not had to fiddle with the on/off switch to resync like I did maybe once a month on the iMac.

Perhaps there is RF interference in your location?
