Mac Studio M1 Max: Activation of Touch ID on my new Apple Keyboard?

Hello All,

When attempting to activate Touch ID on my new Apple Magic Touch ID Keyboard, [it] always returns to same screen asking me to click Mac Studio Power Button twice quickly!

I am running the latest version of Monterey 12.x.x on my 2022 Mac Studio M1 Max, both updated to current latest.

Suggestions?

Yes. then it returns to the same instructions again.

I had the same problem, but kept trying and eventually it worked. I seem to recall that there was something that appeared BEHIND the instruction to double-tap, and I was able to start pressing my finger on the keyboard touch button so it could learn my print.

There was something to be done that was not explicitly stated, and I just kept trying different things. Sorry I cannot recall exactly what worked.

You just have to push the power button twice, very quickly.
