Hello everyone,

I've had Mac Studio for about a week, in a M1 Ultra 64 core gpu configuration. I just discovered a problem when working with the 3D program Cinema4D R25 and R26. When the software is on, it does GPU glitches even in macOS windows and dock. When I turn it off everything is OK. I also experienced something similar when working in Unity 2021, but it's not as pronounced there.

GPU benchmarks like Cinebench or Geekbench 5 don't do these problems.

Do you think it's just a bug in the software and poor optimization for M1 Ultra, or could my M1 Ultra be faulty?

Thanks!

Damn, that sucks. Since it's doing that in both apps, it sounds like a hardware issue. Have you tried any other 3D software like Blender or maybe Maya?

I know wait times are bad but sometimes this happens. I bought an iMac once that had an epic fat green line glitching out on it and I had to return it, but then all was good.

Hope you work it out and all the best with it.

Thank you! Since Cinema4D doesn't work for me, I use Blender, and it works fine. Tried Maya now and ok too. In Unity I had the feeling that something flashed once, but maybe it was just my imagination :D

As far as I know it’s a C4D issue, developers are already aware of that and it should be fixed with a software update.

Where have you heard the developers are aware and are working on an update? Only asking because I'm having this exact problem with the same hardware / software combo.

Appears to only happen with an Ultra Studio and a Pro Display XDR and C4D in my testing. If it's really only a software problem I can avoid having to return / repair.

Edit : Confirmed with Maxon it's a software issue. They're working with Apple on a fix. They said the current Ventura beta is already fixed.

Anyone installed Ventura? I’m waiting for this issue to be fixed to buy a MacStudio
