Thanks, I do quite like the idea of this but I don't think the Studio display cables would be long enough. I have a deep desk and the cable through hole is right at the back.

Of course, I could just drill a new hole :)

Nice, but it's very expensive for what it is. It also feels like it should have some rubber or lining to avoid scratching the bottom of the Studio

I personally have some short HD cables that would require purchasing a lot of expensive USB-C/thunderbolt cables so that they can sit on a table/shelf nearby

You aren’t kidding about being over priced for what it is… and did you see the price for the 5’ “cable management” sleeve they are also offering? Thats a joke too… and, as you point out, it is lacking in the area of protecting the device it holds.

I try to support anything that is made in the u.s.a. - but it has to be reasonably priced, and this is not that by any stretch o the imagination. For that reason I will pass and will be making a concerted effort to advise others to also avoid giving this proprietor any money. It’s too bad people have to be so greedy… they take whats otherwise a decent idea and ruin it by trying to gouge people.

I could probably spend $20 on material and four hours to make something that would work…assuming I own all the necessary tools. Compared to the price of this mount that's like making $14/hour. Woohoo!

Wow, just wow.

What business is it of yours how people spend their money?
I don’t claim it is any of my business, and at end of day I could care less if someone wants to encourage the gouging… it’s their loss, not mine; but if given the chance would gladly share my opinion with others and point them to much more reasonably priced items being used for the same purpose for them to compare things too. It’s appears the seller of this item would prefer people don’t know what other like kind items are being sold for - otherwise it would be priced more in line with what its competes against; IMHO

However, I have to add something.

I emailed them and asked how much it'd cost to ship this to the UK.

Your FedEx shipping estimate to the UK, is between $260-$300. This does not include the cost of the item.

They're looking into other options.

Save yourself the money and take a look at these options; https://talk.macpowerusers.com/t/under-desk-rack-for-mac-studio/28450/9
I have been looking around, part of the reason for wanting to mount it under the desk is to increase the available space below the unit to give more airflow. Unfortunately, that mount (and all the 3D printed ones I've found) don't really tick the boxes.

I do like the metal design, 3D plastic printed mounts concern me, especially with the higher weight of the Studio Ultra.

They've just come back to me with a USPS quote of around $100 but even that's far too much. I recently imported around $1200 worth of bulky ham radio gear from the USA to the UK and four day DHL shipping was lower than that. This is smaller and lighter so it really shouldn't be expensive to ship.

You could always make an account at MyUS.com and have them handle shipping.

A couple well designed alternatives…
That first one is £62 which works out at $76. The one in the first post is $75 and is made of aluminium, not plastic. For $1 difference, I know which one I’d prefer.

The second is cheaper at $40 but isn’t designed for the Studio.

I don’t see any viable alternatives here, sorry.

I wish the chap who replied to my comments on the video (and told me to contact him) would respond to me, I've tried to get hold of him both via YouTube and via Twitter but no reply at all.

This one should be eligible for international shipping:
I like this unit better, but like the other one it doesn't allow room for any vertical expansion for something of a similar form factor.

Interesting that only Amazon in the US offers it for sale too.
