Hi all, eagerly awaiting my Mac Studio order :)
Did someone already find a fitting under-the-desk mount?
Best, J

The mounting assembly shown in reply 2 above looks like it has "solid sides" that will inhibit the necessary airflow in/out of the Studio enclosure.

Also, when you put the Studio "under the table" like that, how are you gonna get at all the ports on the back... and on the front...?

I was worried a bit about air flow indeed. Outlet should not be an issue; but inlet (bottom) could be..
Access to ports is not an issue: my monitor has a built in hub.

No worries, there is more then enough space at the bottom to suck air in, en even more then enough for the exhaust at the back because it is completely open.

In my case I would leave stuff plugged in and rarely ever have to access the back. I also don't use USB-keys or SD cards so I'm going to mount my Studio under and to the back of my (open) desk. It will always stay on and just sleep. Basically it would be out of sight completely.

3D printing a custom under desk mount might be a fun project.
I made one for 3D printing, just make sure you use PLA or PETG, or any material that is tough and strong.
Have fun :)

I sort of gave up hope for a quick commercial solution, so I ended up going to home depot and buying a 8" x 2' shelf with a sturdy one piece metal frame. The shelf in now mounted under the right hand side of the desk above the UPS.

Not as ideal a solution as I had using a vesa mount to put the of 2018 Mac Mini on the side of the desk.

At least it put the Mac Studio under the desk and gave me room enough to move all the external drives onto the same shelf.

It is really nice to have everything off the top of the desk while still leaving the Studio's power button within easy reach.

Since I didn't need to stretch for the power button very often with the Mac Mini, having the Studio in an even easier to reach location, made it an easy choice.

Nice. I wonder if this will mean that less dust would be pulled into the machine as it’s not really sitting on a surface

Is it a pain to turn it on each morning?

My machine is always on - it just goes in 'sleep' modus during night... And every morning I wake it through one keyboardstroke... So, no pain at all :)

I wound up using the under desk mount sold by OWC for a Mac mini stack:

The hole at the bottom is too small for the Studio but I added some foam feet to each corner to lift the Studio off the acrylic about a quarter inch. Works great!

I did it... I bought a Mac Studio under the desk mount in ETSY:

I am quite happy with it :) Got some extra room on the desk

I did forget to post about another positive effect of having the MacStudio under the desk... I don't need to reduce the fan speed with 'Macs Fan Control' any more. I am at the default speed (1300 rpm) and I don't hear the fans of the MacStudio at all...

Noise was my number 1 concern with upgrading to the Studio. I hoped mounting it under desk would make it quieter. Thanks for this positive experience.

I can't use an under desk mount as my keyboard drawer gets in the way and I have drawers/cabinets on both sides.

I currently have my Mac mini mounted to the back of the area of my executive desk where your feet go. I found a sideways mount that allows you to do the same for the Mac Studio.

Does anyone know if mounting the Mac Studio on its side would hurt anything? I'm assuming airflow won't be impeded. I don't need ready access to ports as I have a USB hub that can serve that function. Just didn't want it mounted on my desk.

I was able to find a wall mount for the Mac Studio that works perfectly: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1234515655/apple-mac-studio-wall-and-vesa-mount

This replaced my Innovelis TotalMount for Mac Mini. The lips where the top of the Mac Studio goes were a little rough. I sanded them a tiny bit with 180 grain sandpaper. I was afraid it would scratch the top of the Mac Studio despite the fact that I never plan to remove it until I get rid of it.

This mounted in the footwell of my desk facing the front of the desk (facing me). The SD card and front USB-C ports are facing downward now. Not the easiest to get to, but I use an SD card adapter in my keyboard drawer anyhow. I wasn't planning to use the front ports at all.

Now the whir of the fans is away from me and inaudible now.

I got this and had to re-drill the holes in my desk a second time. The material flexes quite a bit and if you hold the mount up to your desk without the Studio in the mount the holes are in the incorrect position. I wish they would have included a paper template showing where to drill the screw holes, or said you need to insert the Studio into the mount to correctly determine the screw position.

If someone makes an under desk mount of metal I might swap this 3D printed unit out.

Addition info. It looks like the same seller on Etsy has two mounts for the Mac Studio. There is the one in @southerndoc's post and the other one I got. It has a hole in the bottom for the Studio's air intake and mounts the unit as you would on a desk, with the intake and usb ports on the bottom.

New under-desk mount for pre-order from Oeveo. Launched in white, but looks like they will have silver/black.

Gonna hold out for black myself. I'm using one of their under-desk UPS mounts which is working well.

I was looking into mounting options last night and came across the Oeveo one as well. I think I might have to get it for my desk setup... Thoughts?
