When I just bought my M3 Studio, I noticed the fans never completley shut down while in sleep mode and this wasn’t even possible with an app. But the outside felt always completely cold while sleeping.
Now, a year or so later, this seems to be changed by Apple. I noticed the fans do seem to be completely off in sleep mode. And it often (not always) feels luke / hand warm.
So I looked at the Activities and found that non-Safari browsers and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, but mostly Spotlight are quite active.
Of course, initial Spotlight indexing is normal, but so much energy spend from indexing on a year old computer from just some email and one or two pdf’s I add in a day, seems weirdly much.
Also, what can Photoshop and Illustrator possibly be doing (constantly, not just on one occasion) while the Mac is in sleep mode and often even with no documents open?
Is this normal?
