Mac Studio with Samsung G9

Ok.. just hooked up my mac studio with the G9 using two usb c to display port cables. (No HDMI at all)

When I put it in double screen picture by picture mode (pop), I get 2 perfect 27inch displays side by side.

However, when I switch it to single screen mode... the mac puts out a picture but it becomes completely unresponsive until I go back to PBP mode. (the mouse moves, but I'm unable to click on anything.)

Likewise, If I start the mac in single screen mode and then try to switch it to PBP mode it becomes unresponsive until I switch it back to single screen mode. After I get it working again, it pops up an error message that says "Preference error: there was an error in Displays preferences".

So I'm unable to switch between modes without the studio becoming unresponsive. Anyone else have this issue? or a solution?

Are your USB-C to DisplayPort cables 5k @ 60Hz compatible? For 5120x1440, you might need a better cable.

I switched now to 1 DP cable and 1 HDMI cable and that seems to work better.

There's some issue with the Mac studio recognizing what's going on when the g9 is in single screen mode with both DP cables connected. As soon as I unplug one of the DP cables it works. And it works fine with 1 DP and 1 HDMI.
