I just finished setting up my Mac Studio this week. I have the new keyboard with the touch control. With the old keyboard I could put my display to sleep using COMMAND>OPTION>EJECT. Since this keyboard has no EJECT key is there a keyboard combination put the system to sleep? I have looked on the Internet, but do not se the question addressed. I use this when I am charging my mouse because plugging the mouse in usually wakes the system.

Who knew "control-shift-eject" and "command-option-eject" do the same thing on the old style non-touch id magic keyboards. But moving forward to a Touch ID Magic Keyboard, this is good to know, as there's no longer an "eject" key, and sometimes double pressing my Apple Watch for security prompts can be tiresome.

If you're putting the computer to sleep for power reasons, then yeah just push the touch key as people have noted above.

If you're just looking to lock your screen (say getting up to go grab coffee at work) or just sleep your display, then you can use Command-Control-Q. I prefer not to let my machine sleep since I've had all sorts of weird bugs pop up after sleeping over the years, and I use Command-Control-Q and then press Escape to sleep the displays, but not the machine.

System Settings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard navigation -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> App Shortcuts

Click "+"

Application -> All Applications
Menu Title enter "Sleep"
Keyboard Shortcut (whatever you want)

If you only want this to work while in a particular application such as the Finder, just select the app in the drop down menu that appears if you click on "All Applications"

EDIT: I am still using Sonoma, don't know if it is different in Sequoia
