Well, prior to today, I could live with the fact that I'd have to manually sync my laptop to the "Cloud", but now today, low and behold I make changes in Contacts and iCal, manually sync to the "Cloud" and the Contacts aren't syncing at all and the iCal is syncing, but not pushing to the phone...

Perhaps the Cloud dissipated??

Weird that one is working and not the other, I think its teething problems personally.

Im seeing the same thing right now, sync is working as a contact created on one computer appears on another once they've both synced, but that contact is not yet on the web app or the phone. The service is just not reliable yet.

ok, well, I got the iCal events to show on the phone, (were showing on cloud not pushing to the phone) I had to go into the phone settings and turn off sync Calendar, then turned it back on and the events I added via the laptop are now showing on the phone..

As far as Contact changes I made on my laptop, I looked in my address book to make sure they are there, sure enough they are, I manually sync to the cloud, but they aren't syncing to the cloud (me.com)

Same here - everything was actually working (almost) perfectly yesterday. Changed all the photos in my address book on my computer, manually synced, but it is still not updating on either MM or my phone

Zim, that is exactly what I did, I updated some contacts on Monday, had to manually sync, I was ok doing that because when I manually synced from laptop to MME, the changes were reflected on MME and pushed to my phone..

Now today, updated some more contacts, unfortunately the manual sync is no longer working nor is the automatic sync (changes aren't showing up in MME).. looks like the Contact aspect of MME is a flatliner...

I've just had to do exactly the same thing.. as I created 2 appointments on my iMac.. manually synced with mobileme, but:
1) they didnt show up in me.com
2) were not pushed to my iPhone
but weirdly they did show up on my macbook when i did a manual sync!!

After about 4-5 hours, it's only now that I thought to mess with my iPhone and I turned Calendar syncing Off and then back On, and lo and behold the appointments are on my iPhone and also on me.com

Apple better get this service up and running properly soon... I'm not paying them to be a beta tester! ;)

Working (almost) perfectly was a bit of an exageration anyway. Completely forgot about the most annoying bug of all - read and deleted emails not being updated between my phone and MM

Just got on my MobileMe, and under account they just posted this information on the right side:

"MobileMe members are currently unable to use Contacts with MobileMe Mail on the web. Accessing MobileMe Contacts directly, by visiting me.com/contacts, is not affected. Service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience. "

We just have to be patient while they work out all the bugs... I guess?!?!?

And with that, Contacts are back up, just got a phone call from a newly added contact and everything showed up, logged into MME checked the contacts and sure enough they're all there and were pushed to the phone...

turning the sync on and off from the phone does seem to fix it each time, until the next time it stops working. kind of defeats the purpose of "push" though

Interesting...that actually worked for me as well! (We'll see for how long)

My syncing has been working great since I got my iPhone on Monday, now all of a sudden all syncing is down for me. Nothing appears on the WebApp, and nothing is syncing between my Macs and two iPhones. Turning syncing on and off doesn't help on the iPhones like it has for others.

Hopefully they will make the service reliable soon.
