Mac thinkers: critique my Online Business website

I've just launched this site:

I've emailed all my friends, business advisors etc for their critique. Now I'd value input from Mac thinkers!

Your main navigation is broken when JavaScript is disabled so I didn't make it very far. This will also hurt you in search rankings and search engine indexing.

Text is absolutely huge, and if I'm saying that, it must be true as I usually tell people to increase their font size. It's just too in your face for me.
 
Thanks... appreciate your opinion. Will check out the Javascript/SEO thing - any more pointers appreciated. What do others think on these and other points?
 
I am on a 24" iMac and your text is freakin' HUGE!!!!!

Figure the text size for an average 17" monitor!

Your website, unfortunately is nothing spectacular or makes it stand out from most others......way to crowded also. Do you think someone who views your site for 20 seconds will keep looking??? Think how others see and view your site.
 
Way to huge text and a lot of abnormalities in its workings like your main navigation bar has the "I" bar as though text input is expected.

It looks massive on my 13" Macbook, although it does make it easy to ready when my Macbook is on the otherside of the room ;)

From usercentic POV the site does navigate very well however it still looks like something is missing I'm thinking hierarchy of the typography.
 
What is "SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION" - That how you spell it in the UK?

What is the purpose of your site? Push referrals to canned templates? Woah tables and JS...
 
i don't know really what to say.

It is hard for a business to sell web services to other businesses when their website look slike that!

Most people have already said it, there seems to be no sense of design? With comments like trading for 3 years and been on the web since 2000 I would expect it to be a kick ass site! 58 html validation errors on the home page alone,

its all a little nasty for my liking most people get a crappy site builder with their hosting that they could do this site on.

Sorry bro but i think it is back to the drawing board.

(PS you can see my sites in my sig and this one for my design company www.mostlymojo.com so im not just flamin ;) )

Yes, in the UK the 'z' often has an 's' in a number of words so it's the correct spelling for the OP location. They also spell colour rather than color. There's hundreds of slight spelling differences between European English and American English. Similar is the difference between Spain Spanish and Mexico Spanish.
 
I agree with all previous comments (sans the aside about spelling).

The one thing I want to add is I clicked on the "Start your new online business" and got to the "Online buiness builder page" and felt like I was redirected to an entirely new web site. Not that I liked the layout and style of your entry point page, but a site should be somewhat consistent from page to page.

Interestingly enough, although lacking in header/footer and some color - that second page is very professional looking, proper fonts, nice rounded corners and the nav buttons are gorgeous and well placed.

It's like two developers worked on this project. Sorry if these seems negative, but I'd design a home page around the second page's look and overall feel!!!

Whats with the flash? Is it needed at all? Its fancy just to be fancy. As are the ubiquitous late 1990s early 2000 logos you chose to use.

Some of the icon choices dont make much sense either.

A play button for "business workflows"?
An envelope for "templates"?

The synopsis of this site is that is a money making website that sells a CMS?
 
I remember when we went to Ginos restaurant when travelling through the south all the cups and straws were labeled, i.e. "Straw" on the straw paper cover, "Cup" (but no size) on the cups, a red "Napkin" on the, well you get the picture. It's as if someone sued them for picking up a straw and not knowing what it was or its purpose, or couldn't find it anywhere in the store without being clearly labeled. Or people with vision impairment sued, etc. or maybe the world's dumbest staff worked there?! I just recall thinking I might not be the founder of MENSA, but I sure as heck know I'm picking up a cup when I'm reaching for one without having to read an identifier label!

Yeah, this whole online business concept is missing some verbs, i.e. "start" or "create" or whatever so people know by the domain name as well as splash page the purpose of the site.

You've used a lot of their icons, etc and the whole 'wizard' seems to be theirs.

Nothing wrong with that, but I'm just accounting for the difference in the nice 'wizard' pages to the pages in your site's design.

I am not a big fan of your site's design - lot of good feedback has been already mentioned so I'll leave it at that.

That is the correct Oxford English way of spelling optimisation. Like centre, habour and organisation the US has seemed to bastardised the proper spelling of words.

But I really do agree with your point about the purpose of the site, to me it's just another site on the web it doesn't seem to have a specific goal or purpose.
