Mac TV Tuner vs Windows Media Center

I was wondering if there is an Apple TV Tuner attachment for a modest price that compares to Microsofts new media center where you can watch TV programs on your Mac and record them?

Why doesn't Apple just integrate one into their computers? I just thought it makes sense that Apple include them now that most PC companies are.

Also, can anyone tell me how it works and the setup involved?

Yep,

I own a EyeTV 200 ( www.elgato.com ), great software, works fast because the encoding is done in the external (firewire) box.

I am quite sure Apple, is working at something, but it will take a great effort to implement it in the right way. If it comes to complex problems/solutions Apple is allways very cautious not to be to quick, also the TV world is in a transition phase right now, it is premature to introduce something right now.

For now you will be save with Elgato.

ive got an eye TV 200 as well. it works great. the newer version is the 250 and it is a little smaller than the 200 and cheaper than the 200. though it also does hardware encoding which is much much much better than software encoding. software encoding uses your computer's processor to encode which makes tv slow, and often skips frames and such. the eye tv is totally easy to hook up and the eye TV software is easy to use. pretty much about the same as a tivo but there are a few functions missing like the way tivo automatically choses shows you might like. but other than that it will do stuff like let you set up automatic recordings for shows you like. overall i think it is the best solution right now. id love a little tv tuner integrated into the mini. that would make the ultimate 'tivo replacement' but i dont think apple is in that business . . . . yet
