I am a recent Mac convert and am greatly missing Paint Shop Pro which I cannot get on a Mac :( Anyone have suggestions of what programs to look at? I basically like editing... crops, color, etc.... and also adding text on top of things to make graphics. Any help would be much appreciated!

GIMP
Free Photoshop-esque clone.
Requires X11 though, but they have instructions on how to get that (you can download it or get it off the OS X 10.4 Tiger disk)...also free.

GIMP or try Version Tracker and search the graphics section, there are plenty of different application to choose from they will do the same thing (pretty much) as Paint Shop Pro.

Photoshop Elements

I second the Photoshop Elements suggestion.

I was a long time Windows person, and I loved Paint Shop Pro. Missed it so much when switching 2 years ago. I still miss it.

But Photoshop Elements is about the closest, best thing I've found.

I totally agree, Photoshop elements is what you're looking for.

On Windows, I used both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. At first, I found Paint Shop Pro to be easier to use for what I wanted to do. However, I then used Photoshop much more as became a "more advance" graphics user. I'd have to second the vote for Elements, or possibly running PSP under Windows in Parallels / Boot Camp?
