this is regarding this post
https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=12424932

so its a late 2009 mac mini (macmini3,1 A1283) introduced oct 2009
i installed the bought and installed the ram as someone suggested but
the mac wouldnt even boot, what i mean is the power supply wouldnt even turn on. i just saw the white light in the front and thats it. i left it on for 5 minutes and still nothing. i took it apart checked all wires a few times and tried a few times and still wouldnt turn on. i eventually gave up and put in the old ram in and it worked.

this is what ram i got as per the old post:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231294

is it possible that the ram is bad and i should have it replaced?
or i should use another brand?

thanks

i'm not 100%, but i thought your Mac needed the firmware updated to accept 8 gb ram? Did you update the firmware?

Put the original ram back in and test. If all is well, then you know your hardware is good and it's most likely bad ram or firmware issue.
