Running OS X 10.4.1 576MB Ram iMac G3 450Mhz

Hard Drive is a LaCie 250GB F.A. Porsche Design bought @ macworld 2k5

Doesn't show up in disk utillity, and won't mount. other firewire perheprials work fine, powers on fine. Switched cords, ports and ends of the cords, turned off the mac and hard drivfe and unplugged left alone for 15 minutes still wont work..

any ideas? I have over 100GB of stuff that I don't want to lose.

Doesn't sound good!

I don't know how practical this is, but can you remove the drive from its enclosure and plug it into a standard IDE port? Maybe you'll be able to see it then (if you don't know anyone with a Mac tower, just use a Windows PC plus the demo version of MacDrive).

Surprisingly enough, I just thought about using it to replace my iMac Drive. Also I do know someone who has a Mac tower and the Drive itself came DOS formatted.

I know you said it didn't work on another computer, but try zapping the pram. Every once and a while my firewire drive wouldn't connect or show up on my Power Mac G4. I read somewhere on the Apple site to unplug all firewire devices and zap the pram. It's probably worth a shot.

Tried and failed, twice

The strangest thing is it stopped working immidetly after I disconnected it from my friends new iBook (un-mounted corectly)

I also tried starting the computer up in safe mode... no dice... I'm guessing its a drive problem.... would there be anyway for me to get the data off of it?
