Hi..

I was wondering, when would the Santa Rosa come to the regular Macbook ? It seems that all Mac book pros have already been upgraded to the santa rosa platform.

Cause I dont really prefer lugging a 15.4" heavy laptop around.

the macbooks will probably be updated sometime around december. but if its weight you are worried about, the 15 inch mbp is only .3 pounds heavier.

Next time search the forums and the site for more info. However, no one really knows when the macbooks will be updated next. My guess is mid November, as this is when they were updated last year, and because it fits the timeline compared to past updates for the macbook/iBook line. This also places the update before Christmas.

Erm, The macbooks got a "minor2 update in May (I think it was May). They got faster CPUs. Or does that not count?

It does, but that doesn't address the OP's question. He asked when the next update would occur (or rather when the macbooks would get SR, which would be an update). Also note that I said the macbooks were updated in mid November last year; I did not say that they weren't updated this year. The macbook line seems to follow a 6 month cycle for updates; it's been like clock work.

the macbook pro only weighs 300 grams more

it's a completely insignificant difference
