Hey,

I am trying to figure if these specs make sense for my current workflow of primary 4K editing, (10bit, maybe 12bit) with After Effects used once in a while for rendering in After Effects. I am a full time filmmaker.

Macbook Pro 16"
M1 Pro Chip
10C CPU 16C GPU
2 TB of SSD

I am not sure if it makes sense to get 32 GB of ram. I am going to be using this computer for at least the next 5 years and this is going to be my primary machine.

Previously I wouldn't have asked about getting 32 GB of ram, but I am basing the question on this review.

If you're masking you need all the RAM you can for render previews. Whenever I mask in AE I run out of RAM on a 32GB PC.

those MaxTech people only test a few light workloads and call it real world, so watch it then compare to what you do. After Effects will eat all of your RAM in a heartbeat.
You’re a full-time film maker so go on and get the Max 32 gpu cores and 32 GB of RAM at minimum.
