Hi,
I was given an old 2008 white a1181 macbook with a broken logic board. I decided to fix it up and replaced the logicboard and put a new hybrid harddrive in, the original harddrive was missing. It already had 4 GB Ram. All good except the keyboard and trackpad weren't working. I used a usb keyboard and mouse and installed Lion and set everything up. I bought a new silver keyboard ribbon and replaced it, the keyboard and trackpad now work - I am typing on it now! Problem is I cannot get it to start up using the power button. To turn it on I have to remove the keyboard, unplug the ribbon from the logic board, then plug the magsafe power in, it then starts automatically. I plug the keyboard back in and can use it. Once I shut down, to get it to turn back on again I have to remove the power, remove the keyboard ribbon and plug it back in again. This starts it everytime - I have probably done this about 20 times now. The macbook is running perfectly once turned on.
Any suggestions? I am getting a bit frustrated with it now.
Thanks!
