Macbook 2017 usb-c dongle trouble

Hi!

I'm having a problem with my usb-c dongle. (Macline Usb-c to miniDP $30, seems to be a swedish retailer and therefore a swedish website)

I can connect my macbook via the adapter to screens with:

miniDP to DP cable
miniDP to VGA adapter to VGA cable
miniDP to miniDP cable

BUT NOT with:

miniDP to HDMI adapter to HDMI cable

Does anyone know what seems to be the problem? Firmware on OSX? I have 10.13.4.
Have tried with 4 or 5 different displays with the HDMI adapter/cable combo.

Bought this adapter since i already owns a miniDP to VGA and miniDP to HDMI adapters.

Please help me :)
