Hi guys, i have a 2018 macbook pro 15. This is what happened

I was just deleting some hundreds of jpg files and my mouse got stuck... it slowly moved up to the direction where i was pointing it too.

2. The Macbook Fans start going crazy

3. Macbook Restarts by itself.

Do you know how to read the console? I couldnt find a kernel panic....
[doublepost=1555757743][/doublepost]OMG i found the code...

goes as this....

Code:

Omg, I just found the error log, does anyone know what this is about?

Hi guys, i have a 2018 macbook pro 15. This is what happened

I was just deleting some hundreds of jpg files and my mouse got stuck... it slowly moved up to the direction where i was pointing it too.

2. The Macbook Fans start going crazy

3. Macbook Restarts by itself.

Omg, I just found the error log, does anyone know what this is about?

Hi Riccardo83,

I see you have found the kernel panic thread on this forum with its 3500+ posts, so, as you will note, many individuals are having the same type of KP troubles. It appears that with each new macOS update, the KPs are getting less frequent, but they are still occurring even under 10.14.5 beta. I also think most of these individuals have learned to live with the KPs.

Personally, I don't trust the 2018 MBP with my work, so anything I do on the 2018 MBP I repeat on an older iMac as well as under Linux. I do this because not only have I experienced the macOS on the 2018 MBP delete a file off of a SMB mounted external RAID disk drive, I also have experienced the macOS on the 2018 MBP corrupt a file on its own internal SSD (I have the strongest possible evidence of this -- cryptographic evidence). Primarily because of these two serious errors, but also to a lesser extent because of the hundreds of WiFi disconnects and bluetooth disconnects that I've experienced and documented, I simply can't trust the 2018 MBP with my coding or writing.

Good luck,
Solouki

Are you saying 2017 is better? Is this software or hardware? secondly i believe 10.14.4 made this apparent not the previous version

Hi Riccardo83,

I don't own a 2017 MBP, so I don't have first hand experience with one. But I do own a 2016 MBP and currently use it for system critical work instead of my 2018 MBP.

The 2017 MBP, as well as the 2016 MBP, have the T1 chip in them, while the 2018 MBPs have the T2 chip. Most people believe that the problems are somehow related to the T2 chip, as these problems appeared in the first Apple computer with the T2, the iMac Pro, and then continued in the second computer, the 2018 MBPs. So, if this is truly a problem with the T2 chip or how it interacts with the high-end Intel CPUs, i.e., a hardware problem, then indeed the 2017 MBP might be better in the sense that it may not have the same kernel panic, WiFi, bluetooth, etc. problems as the 2018 MBPs. I'm on my third high-end CTO 2018 MBP, and all three have had the same problems. On the other hand, I believe that it depends upon how you use the 2018 MBPs as to whether you experience any disruption from these problems. At the same time, I have never seen these problems arise on my 2016 MBP, 2015 MBP, iMac, Mac mini, a second 2016 MBP all performing exactly the same tasks, while all three 2018 MBPs have (or had) these troubles continuously.

Regards,
Solouki
