Macbook: (2x512mb) or (1x512+1x1024mb)???

Just ran Xbench, in the memory test it scored a Scored a 117 for the (2x512mb= 1 gig) and for the (1x512+1x1024mb= 1.5 gig) it scored a 113.

Should I switch back to just 1 gig?

I really don't see a reason too...113 vs 117 isn't that big a difference.

No. XBench is a pretty lousy benchmarking tool, and you shouldn't rely on it. A computer with 1.5GB of RAM should be running faster than one with 1GB.

I don't know if this is 100% true but...

I think I read somewhere that if your two RAM modules are the same size, then the C2D is able to use the double-port memory feature.

This allows two simultaneous readings/writings to RAM memory as far as they are one in one module and the other one in the other. Probably the OS will try to distribute data in a way that uses both modules equally.

BTW, I don't know if RAM module is correct but I think you understand what I mean...
