Hi there!
I've got a late 2008 Macbook, my old trusty workhorse, with two internal SSD's (Samsung and SanDisk). I usually don't run it through any hard usage anymore, except for light Photoshop work and web-browsing, but looking into ways to upgrade it even further. I've been tinkering with the thought of setting up a striped RAID solution to boost performance. Although, I have a few qualms on whether or not I should do it. It being two quite safe SSD's in terms of performance; I'm not really too worried about drive failure - though should I? Does the fact that I'm still using the old model 5,1 in any way affect the likelihood of a failure? And definitely, is it worth the risk? As of now, it's running faster than with the old 7800rpm stock harddrive, but not as fast as I'd like it to be. Any tips and tricks will be greatly appreciated.
Before RAM gets mentioned, it's maxed out at 8GB.
