wow, not a bad deal! with the $100 saved, i could buy an external superdrive, e=extra RAM, and a nice case!

I think I'm gonna buy my Macbook from Apple... in my case, I also need an iPod video. It would cost me more to get the stock Macbook + iPod than a BTO MB with an 80GB and a video :)

If you are looking for both a new iPod and a new MacBook- then you can not beat the deal that Apple is offering. :)

My MacBook cost £999 for 1.83GHz Core Duo, 100GB HDD, all rest standard. However, I did up the RAM to 2GB-this thing is gonna fly (if it ever ships  )!

this has

this has, of course, been the deal from amazon from the beginning of offering the MB's. I really don't know how they get away with offering the rebates? Apple is usually SO stict about pricing and discount of ANY nature.

I will be ordering one this week from AMAZON, where I ordered my intelimac.

My first G5 imac had problems, and in the interim the intelimac came out. Amazon simply shipped me the newer model. Of course, I had to call ,but it was no problem. They do seem to excell at customer service.
