MacBook actually GOOD?

Hey, I have baught a MacBook two-three weeks agoand I an so thrilled with it! I havent had any mooing, squeeling, swelling, or color-changing. I just would like to say two things. One is a comment and one is a question. THe first is, if you are on the fence about the macbooks because of the 'defects,' I would say to forget it, I did and my MacBook is near perfect! The second thing is, how long untill the discoloration appears, or if it appears in everyones computer?

hey, the macbook is great. looks great works great and the issues some people have are due to opinion, quality control issues and some iffy decisions made by the design people at apple. i've had mine for a week and a half and its a bit warm and theres a bit of misalignment at the power connector but its great.

having said all that - are you telling me that after using it for a while (till it gets to 63-64 degrees if you have a temp. widget) your fans don't whir up and down every few seconds? its a quiet but noticable sound and almost certainly due to a choice to set the on and off temp. for the fans at about the same degree. i assume it was a choice made to try and keep the temp down without running the fans for long, obvious periods.

its odd, annoying and i assume will burn out the motors sooner. it has not been resolved with the os update and i want it fixed. set it to go on at a higher temp. and bring the thing down more.

if your macbook doesn't do this, the comfort i take in the shared experiences here and the subsequent reasoning that this "mooing" was a design choice and not an unfixable problem will vex me no end.

i'll still have a great notebook computer though.

My MacBook fans are like a whisper quiet, Im quite happy with them. I have had an iBook before and people have to realise that laptops NEED the fans to run smoothely.

Same thing with heat, my iBook was slightly hot, which is why Im probably fine with the heat on this laptop too, its nothing out of the ordinary.

I have more complaints about the speakers though, they kinda suck

Also, my MacBook makes me seem emo at times, i cut my wrists (not bleeding butslight pain) on the edges, but its not bad, theres no mark lol

So I guess Im a lucky one then?

No issues here. Love it.

Had a white one for one day, however, and yellow stains did start to appear.

Well, whats going on? I downloaded a video of Mac OS X "Leapord" because yea know, I was curious.

So I downloaded it, opened it, watched, it was pretty cool. Then all of a sudden, a layer fell from the top of the screen. I cant explain it, if youve ever gotten the gray screen of death, you know the gray layer that comes from the top and scrolls down? Well i had that, there was NO box in the center. But something was different. The screen was now tinted multiple colors. My white safari page was red, my bg was yellow (it WAS blue) and the video turned red too. I moved around the windows and wherever it would go, the colors would disappear, only to have the layer fall again. This happened 3 times until a blue version of the greay screen of death came.

I know this isnt logic board because Ive had that, actually 3 times on my iBook. I restarted to find the gray screen of death over and over again. I restarted to Windows, deleted the video off my mac partition, and restarted. My computer now works.

But I just dont know how to explain this. Could it be a coincidence, or is this a normal thing? Help!

If I recall correctly, there was a Mac virus several months ago. It was attached to files that purported to have advance screen shoots of OS 10.5. You may want to search for more specific info.

as you stated is was a supposed screen shot, not a video... and the people who DL and opened that malware dis not report anything like this happening....

Well my computer is fine, for now. Though I have noticed my computer is slightly slower and, if it counts, my Wings3D wont save doe to a "internal error"

So noones had this happen to them? Im pretty scared, how should I inform Apple about this?

If it's any comfort, it's very unlikely to be something virus-like. If it was a virus, then you're one of the first to get it, and it'd most likely be a proof-of-concept thing since it did all those visual things, or it's a very stupid virus that actually notifies the user the user that something's very wrong.

Most likely it's something completely different.
