Macbook Air 11.6 config

I just picked up my MBA 11 inch last night and I am loving it so far. I had a config question since I am still relatively new to Mac. I have a Imac 21.5, MBA, Ipad, Playstation 3 and a Sony notebook connecting to an Airport Extreme base station. Every device except the PS3 is wireless N. Is there a way to configure the base station to run 5ghz wireless N only on my N devices and run 2.4ghz for the PS3?

Any help is appreciated.

Do you have the newest base station? The newest base station is dual band and can broadcast at both frequencies. The previous generations are single band. If you have the newest one I believe you can run 802.11n (5 GHz n only) and 802.11n (b/g compatible mode) simultaneously. Because I have a single band Extreme, I'm not entirely sure.

I do have the newest Extreme the dual band. I have read that giving the 5ghz frequency a different SSID number is the best way to accomplish what I am looking to do. I am just not sure how to do this.

Here's the process:

Open the Airport Utility, Select your Airport Extreme
Click Manual (lower left)
Select the "Wireless" tab
Select "Wireless Network Options..."

On that screen there is a way to name the 5 GHz network...

MooneyFlyer is correct. Give the 5 GHZ network a different name, and then establish connections to it, no longer letting the Airport Extreme decide for you. I do this now on my home network, which I use to stream HD wirelessly between my Home Theater PC and my Media Extenders. Works great!
