Macbook Air 2014 Trackpad No Response when Click

Dear all,

Yesterday I noted that my Macbook's Trackpad's failure: I could move the mouse around but when I clicked it, it just no response. Then I plugged an external mouse with usb port. Yet even that external mouse has no response upon click. What would be the possible cause for that and how to fix it?
