Hello.

2 days ago my Macbook Air got very slowly and started to freezing when i want to open any of apps. I must to hold power button for 5-10 seconds for turn on my Macbook, when i hold the button for less than 5 seconds, I just hear the sound of starting Macbook and nothing after this. My macbook got a slowly startup to, and when i'm at the desktop without any of apps on, kernel_task have very high usage of CPU, about 270%.

Things i have tried:

  • Fix disk permissions
  • Fix disk with "Disk Utility"
  • Reistall of OS X - got a little bit better
  • Restart of SMC/NVRAM/PRAM
  • Fix Mac with the "clean my mac" - 0 errors
  • Fix Mac with the "Hardware test" - 0 errors
Will change of SDD/battery may help?

I hope you can help me guys.

Sorry for my bad english guys!

If it happens while plugged in it may be a dying SSD, do you notice any loss of data?

No, but when I was copying files to my pendrive, it took about 3-4H to copy 11GB, and took 12H to reistall the OS X

I can replacement it by my self, but it is possible to check SSD before I buy a new one?
Take a look at DriveDx, you can also try copying a large file from your Documents folder into the Desktop and see if it also takes too long.

See if you can boot from an external drive and have it behave normally before replacing the SSD.

Try a clean install of macos.

You could also take it to the Apple store for a free diagnosis.

  • Open macbook and clean Fan
What have you done so far to resolve or isolate the issue?

Battery got only about 200 cycles so i think battery is not a problem.
How can i run Air without battery? Open macbook-disconnect battery- turn on with charger?

Cycles alone are not always an indication of battery health.

Yes, disconnect the battery, connect the charger, and let the air power up on its own.

It will run slower than normal without the battery but it should not freeze or cause high cpu usage.
