I am running a stock MBA 2017 with the latest update to Monterey. I am running iStat menus to keep an eye on CPU, RAM & Temps.

However I have noticed, that the temps run higher when ON BATTERY power. As soon as I connect the power adapter, they will drop. I also dont seem to be able to change the fan speed using iStat when running on battery. But as soon as I connect power, the settings I made on battery kick right in, and carry on allowing me to adjust up and down.

Am I missing something here, or does this sound like a valid issue? I have reset SMC, and run the Apple diagnostics which reports everything is 100% operational.

Ive been using Macs for development now for 15 years, and I have never seen anything like this.
