MacBookAir reborn in 2018, with big changes regarding more modern Apple aesthetic, newer components and a few features, like a Retina display and Touch ID, that were previously exclusive to the more expensive MacBook Pro.
Nevertheless, Apple had some new features in 2019 as True Tone and butterfly keyboard 4gen. They also lower the price ...

Lot of customers are still waiting some improvements that could more justify so expensive prices.

Do you think 2020 will be the year for the real reborn?

It's hard for me to imagine a significant redesign to the MBA in 2020. Apple might take a crack at another keyboard iteration (scissor or 5th generation butterfly), but that depends on how much trouble the latest one causes them. Sooner or later, there will be a processor update. At some point, the camera will get better. The price will eventually drop to $999.....but, the truth is you can buy an MBA now for $999 with student discount (plus free head phones) or you can pay $899 at BB. So, the price is on its way down already.

Now, the timing for all of the above is anyone's guess. Some stuff could happen in 2020. Some stuff might happen later. Personally, I seriously doubt there will be a major redesign.

hi.

Thanks for adding your POV to this tread.

Well, in fact, I was not really talking about a redesign, the actual design is really good with a premium aspect. It could stay as is.

I was more relating about components, camera....

I was looking on web yesterday some windows device, acer, dell, hp...and I saw prices around 600€ for I5 8gb Ram and 128/256 storage.

I meant, will apple offer some better components in the futur taking into account that actually what is inside the air is really common but very "pricy"?

Apple is a premium device but they have to take into account the customers critics on the prices..

If Apple releases new MBA with ICE lake chips it would mean a HUGe improvement as new Y chips have 4 cores instead of 2 in the 8th gen.
Jumping 2 gens in terms of processor is always a big improvement.

I can’t see how they would redesign a laptop. There is just so many ways you can mess with a rectangle. A new keyboard is not considered a redesign.
