I just have a brief question. I'm a light user and I want to purchase a new MBA 13' base config with 4 GB RAM. Would this be good enough to play sims 3 smoothly?

You should know i've played the Sims 3 for hours on end on my 11.6 Ultimate with no issues.

I am playing it now on my computer. Looks and works great...2GB, here. Looks like you decided on 4GB...it'd work even better then.

Have fun with your new laptop!

How are you playing without the DVD?

1. Many sites (Steam, Direct2Drive, Gamersgate) offer download purchasing directly from their sites.

2. CD sharing with a computer that has a CD Drive; Or putting the install files on a USB stick.

3. Less...legal ways. (Well, actually, if you own a physical copy of the game / purchased it in some other way, it's legal if just highly unreliable.)

Do you experience performance, lagging issues on your Air? I have a ultimate 13" air but have not gotten around to installing Sims 3 on it for fear it might be unplayable. This comes from a windows quad core PC I have that takes forever to load the game up. Makes me wonder what an Air has that can play a game my quad core PC can not run smoothly.
