Hello,

I'm using a 2020 Air with Monterey 12.3.1, and the computer keeps crashing doing normal things: web browsing, watching movies on VLC, switching between apps, etc. The screen will freeze for a second or two and then go dark. Then I get an error message that says something like "The computer shut down due to a problem. Wait a few seconds or press a button to continue."

I've never had this happen before so I am sure it is due to the latest OS update. Has anyone run into this, or can offer a solution? Thanks very much

This is a Kennel Panic, probably caused due a corruption of the power management unit.

Please try this, perhaps it will solve the problem.

1. Copy the path /Library/preferences/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist
2. Click on the Desktop
3. Press the buttons command+shift+G, paste the path in the pop-up and Return
4. In the window that appears drag the selected item to the bin and restart the Mac

Any luck ?
