Got my macbook air yesterday and love it.

Quick question though.....

when I close my air the magnetic locking feature is no way near as strong as my macbook, is anyone else's similar to this or is this the norm?

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe it just feels like that since the casing is aluminum and the laptop is lighter? Hold onto the bottom when you open it up and see what it feels like then opening it up. Mine seems plenty sturdy? Does it seem good enough?

Thanks for you reply, if I hold the air upside down then it flops open, although this is quite difficult to test as its sooo thin.

I can't say I've held it upside down where it could open. So thin where I can easily grasp it when moving around. I'm betting if you feel a difference between the latch its probably because of the whole different design, aluminum casing, weight difference

If I hold on to just the top or bottom the magnetic latch doesn't hold -- it pops open, but the tightness of the monitor hinge keeps it from opening more than 3/4ths of an inch at the widest point.

I don't understand why this would be a problem. Do you often hold on to your computer by just the top or bottom? It's too thin to be able to do so anyway.
