MacBook Air goes black/gives three warning signals

My MacBook Air went black and started giving out three warning beeps. How can I restart it?

Does the sleep light flash or stay on or?

3 beeps could indicate a problem with RAM.

Thank you, - tried that and now the sleep light is on and the screen is black. What to do now?

Hold down the power button for about 6 seconds to shut off the computer. Then, press the power button. Hopefully, you'll hear the normal startup chime and it'll boot normally.
