well thats interesting!

is it possible battery life could be a reason too? macOS with apple apps are battery optimized to squeeze as much time out of it as is probably physically possible given the battery size and x86 chips

windows boot camp often is... not

differentiation from Pro, outside of being sRGB vs Pro being P3 was my first thought too

Perhaps we'll see another macOS update to bump up the brightness.

My guess is, this is largely due to marketing. The panels are same as the 13" Pro but are missing additional calibration steps to save money. This is similar to the missing heatpipe.

In terms of battery life, Apple can test based on a common nit value. No need to lock it down.

That would be awesome if you can enable this in mac os. The dim screen is the only downside. Some extra nits of brightness would improve the outdoor usability.

I wonder if Apple will give us an update to allow us to use the brightness or if there’s a program/way to force it under OSX?
