My 2016 MacBook Air.
I opened it up today and the screen was like this.
Didn't drop it, no water drops, anything.
I tried restarting it, i tried doing the command, p, r, shift. i even tried the shift & power button. nothing is helping.
i don't know if its the smc, if it has just been dropped before & the screen is barely suffering, or what. please help.

That’s a cracked/damaged LCD. If there is no clear damage to the glass or to the back of the lid, you can take it to Apple and plead your case. That’s probably your best bet. No amount of software resets is gonna help that, I’m afraid :(

That type of LCD damage is physical damage and will not be covered by Apple unless you bought the AppleCare + extended warranty with a deductible...

In all probability a cracked screen at the wide vertical line. Had similar problem this past week. Apple replaced the display in barely 24 hours. Sadly a pricey fix though.
