Hi there this is an odd question but would really appreciate some advice since I don’t have a Mac myself..

I borrowed my boyfriends MacBook and minimised a page that was open revealing his messages.. i was about to close the page when I noticed a message from Tinder from May.. it was a tinder verification code allowing him to register on the app..

I questioned him about this and he is adamant that he has no idea how it got there and the only excuse he has is that he barely uses the laptop and sometimes the messages come at random times/ late etc ( we started dating in Jan).

i just wanted to know from other uses if this is in fact true or if the date and time it says on the iMessage is when the code would have been requested? I really trusted him and never thought he would do this so just need to know if there’s a chance he is telling the truth! :(

Thanks so much in advance!

Becky

Sorry to tell you, but I don’t know of any apps that would message unsolicited verification codes to the Messages app.

Sorry that wasn’t my question.. I was asking if there’s any chance the message showing dated 29th May could have been requested months prior but showing an incorrect date? Due to out of sync issues etc?

It's unlikely that the date is incorrect, however it is possible that someone else entered the wrong phone number into the app when requesting the verification code and it came through to your bf's phone in error.

Sorry I misunderstood. I hope everything works out and that it was someone else’s error.
