Did you put it on? I've been thinking about it, but I'm about as anal retentive as they come and I don't know of a nearby place to have one put on. I did see a IS kiosk in the mall in PHX AZ but that's a 6 hour drive from me. I'm not sure I want to drive that far. ???

Is it "that" hard?

Peace!

Side benefit...

We had IS on a 17" MacBook Pro and it went on 100% fine. Worked well in saving it from scratches on the bottom.

If you are going to do this, my #1 piece of advise is to work in a VERY clean, dust free area. This includes an wind blowing, any of your own hairs falling, etc... Turn OFF airconditioner if you are home, etc... CLEAN the area before starting to work. Be VERY careful of ANY rag you are using, even the micro-cloth that comes wiht iClear can have fuzz that comes off.

In terms of lining it up for a good fit; you can pull it on/off while it reamins wet to get it straight. No prob. Just don't get any dusk stuck to the bottom part of it.

My favorite feature was a side benefit and that is it made the MB Pro MUCH less slippery in the hand (taking it in/out for airport security), and I NEVER dropped it. That was a better benefit than the surface protection.

Never tried taking it off and just sold it with it on. Was looking about 85-90% okay but the women who has it now will leave it on.

NOW, will we put it on the new MB Air... NO, I'm not going to bother. I'm enjoying the surface of the Air and it DID take away from the look of the Pro (IMHO), the "shinny" you refer to made it look LESS like a high-end Apple laptop and more plasticy.

It does nake it look more plastic-cy, however I left a nice scuff mark on the lid the other day and thanked god I had the invisible shield. peace of mind is always most important.

its also cunventient throwing in my work bag without a sleeve.

i actually had a friend who dropped his laptop at the airport when it fell out of the sleeve rushing through security, so the less steps the better.

The Invisable Shield is great in airports - makes it so much less slippery!
