I got an out of the blue crack in my LCD screen on my Macbook Air M1 A2337, so I replaced the display assembly with a pulled original one from ebay and lost True Tone.

Now I have the original display assembly with a broken LCD screen that I want to repair, therefore I'm looking for advice on where it's best to source the replacement parts from.

I am based in Denmark, so I want to order the screen from a european shop if possible. Most screens and adhesives I find are shipped from China or USA, and it takes a long time to get it shipped.

I found this screen from

I found this one from a webshop in Europe:
https://mobspares.com/products/lcd-...etina-13-3-m1-a2337-2020-emc-3598-mgn63-mgn73

But it looks like it is the same as this one which is a bit cheaper from China:

And to install the LCD I would need adhesive strips like these, but shipment takes a bit too long:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005263865584.html

Is it possible to just use double sided tape that isn't pre-cut instead? If so, what widths would I need to use? And How would I make it fit around the camera?

I would love to hear your advice on the screens, and whether you know about other, better screens. Also, if anyone knows where I can order Adhesive strips for the A2337 Macbook Air M1 display from Europe, I would love to know where!

Thank you!

Hi there.
https://selfservicerepair.com/en-US/home deliveries to several EU states.
Maybe you can use a freight-forwarder service to get the display in your country?

Unfortunately, nothing beats an original display in terms of quality and compatibility.
If True-tone is not working, you may as well have the auto brightness disabled and the keyboard backlight not working after login.

Unless you are a very experienced technician, I would advice against the purchase of just the LCD (vs the display assembly with the aluminum top case). It's an extremely delicate and time consuming procedure.

Hi diego.caraballo!

I would not use Selfservicerepair as a new display assembly from apple almost costs the same as a second hand working Macbook Air M1.

I replaced the cracked display with an original display, that was pulled from a genuine Macbook Air M1 A2337 with the same color as mine. So everything works except True Tone, because Apple isn't providing the System Configuration Tool that you need to pair the replacement screen with the logic board, unless you buy the replacement part from Apple.

At this point I feel like I am forced to try this to get True Tone back, and I see it as fun project as well which I would be happy experiment with. I just want to make sure I get the right parts before I continue :)
