I've had my M1 Air since shortly after release. I'm more of an advanced "hunt and peck" keyboard user than a " proper " touch typist. Recently, when reading back what I've typed, I've been noticing I'm repeating letters in words. Not all the time, but often enough. I did suspect that it might be the onset of a subtle neurological condition ( I'm in my 70's ), but further thought had me doubting that. It's almost always the letter "a", and never a consonant. I mentioned this to my wife and she said that she'd noticed a similar thing. Of course as we're a similar age it may well be us and not the keyboards. I was curious as to wether any other forum members had noticed a similar experience.

To translate the above graphic, focus on the right hand side… change the Delay Until Repeat to a longer time.

I very much doubt that you both have the same neurological problem — with the same key! The odds are astronomically high that would occur. It could be a similar hand positioning, but far more likely is a problem with “a” key. But that Delay setting should cure that immediately.

Now, it will mean that when you actually want to repeat letters, it won't happen immediately. For example, if someone were to write, ”Saturn's response is boring, it's giving me the zzzzzz's” — that z won't start repeating right away…

But we don't often do key repeats and a small delay shouldn't matter much at all.

I have also experienced the repeating typed letters bug. Sometimes it comes a day or two after a reboot, other times I don't have it for a week or more. I have filed bug reports but suspect those get filed in the cylindrical icon at the far left on the dock. The workaround is to open Activity Monitor and kill the "bluetoothd" process.
