Hey everyone. Yesterday I attempted to update my MacBook Air M1 to Big Sur 11.3.1. After the update downloaded and started the install process, I saw an error on the screen. Before I could screen capture it, the error went away. Then slowly my dock vanished, title bar vanished, and my screen went blank.

The MacBook Air is still on and powered. I can get the Caps Locks key to light up green, but no keyboard backlight. The screen is also powered on, but completely blank.

Any tips to restart this?

Okay, I did a force restart by holding down the Control + Command + Touch ID buttons. The MacBook has restarted now, and even though it appears to have gone through an update process, the "About This Mac" section still reads 11.3. So I'm going to perform another shut down and full restart and see if anything changes.
