Is it just around the edge? I have to confess my first thought is whether or not it has a battery issue/bad battery.

I have the same laptop you do, and mine is 100% flush.

It is just inside my yellow mark

Same laptop, no such problem. Better ask the retailer if this worries you.

I have this issue with two of all there units that I had my hands on. the first one didn't seem to have this issue (or maybe I just didn't really notice) but its display has severe backlight bleeding so I decided to return it and eventually got a new one in exchange. The replacement's screen is better but it has the same proud bottom plate like yours on the right side, it really annoyed me and you can definitely feel it when you hold it in everyday use so I chose to return it thinking Id better place a new order and get the base model. the 3rd one came with the same bottom plate issue and and some backlight bleeding on the lower left and top left corner, but I ended up choosing to keep it even though these issues kinda annoy me as I find out almost all the screens of this model kinda have the same bleedings, just the matter of degree...and about the unfit bottom case, it feels like its less proud than the previous one and I don't really want to go through all those reorder and waiting so short answer: I'm having the same issue with my MacBook Air and decided to keep it.

I would not waste a second to return it to get a new one.

That said my is fine.
