I am wondering what sort of adapters are needed to connect a MacBook Air to two monitors. I understand that there are some expensive docking stations available for $200+, but looking for a more economical solution. Right now I have a basic USB C Hub for my 2019 MacBook Pro that easily connects to two external monitors - one through HDMI and the second is a Thunderbolt.

You'll need a DisplayLink adapter to do this. There are many out there, but I'd be sure to shop with someone that has a good return policy in case the adapter you pick doesn't work with your Mac.
