MacBook air making noise with Lion

Hi
I installed Lion 10.7 onto my MacBook Air as it is my mobile developing machine for MacOSX apps. I have it dual booting with Snow Leopard. I have noticed that the fan seems to be pretty noisy when the computer is running Lion, compared to me not been able to hear the computer at all when running Snow Leopard. Has anybody else had any experience of this problem?

I've also noticed battery life seems to be a about an hour and a half less when Lion is running - strange as you'd expect Apple to be making the OS more efficient, not less.

Have a look at Activity Monitor (Applications / Utilities /) and select All Processes and sort by CPU to see what the culprit may be.

Why do you think they call it a PREVIEW?

Sorry to revive this thread, but I thought I'd shed some light. In Lion, fan speeds (at least on my MBP) are locked at a minimum of 5,200 RPM, whereas in SL the minimum fan speed was 2,000 RPM.

It's basically a short-term (at least I hope so), fix for Apple's lousy fan management (fans not kicking it high temps etc).

My iMac (2007) and MB (2008) had normal fan speeds with Lion DP 1 and 2.
